*I need to clean my living room, where should I start. Let’s start with the kids bookshelf. Well this toy doesn’t belong here, I need to put it up in their room. Wow! What a mess it is in here. Let’s start working in here. Let’s get the dirty laundry put away. Right the kids are outgrowing their clothes so I need to shop for more kids clothes. I’ll just look at my phone and see what I can find… 1hr later. Oh I need to clean up. I need to finish the kids bookshelf. Cleans bookshelf. Oh right I need to get laundry. Goes to get laundry from a room and gets distracted by kids needing water. Get kids a drink and sits down for 30 min. Oh yes I need to get laundry gets laundry started. Need to use the restroom while in the restroom notice how messy the bathroom is. Well I guess I’ll clean this up….
This is why it always seems like nothing gets done in my house even though I have the intention to clean up. I procrastinate, get distracted, forget what I was doing, or even start in a different spot than where I initially started.
This is my journey on figuring out ways to keep myself on track. Today I want to focus our attention on the living room. My living room always gets a mess even after I just cleaned it. My kids love to play on the couch and build a fort, hide behind the cushions, play the floor is lava, etc. So even after I just made the couch up, they mess it up. So I usually clean it up about three times a day.

Now let’s get started. First put on some music with headphones, this will help keep different noises from distracting your work so much also it helps liven your mood and can keep you in your work mode. Next use the 2 plastic bags, one for trash and the other to put things that don’t belong. After you have it straightened up. Clean you couch you can do this two ways. You can vacuum your couch or take a dry cloth and wipe it off to get dust off the couch. Next make the couch up. Grab your duster and dust ceiling fan, lights, ceiling, corners, pictures, and shelves. (Don’t forget to dust your tv too)
After that tackle your windows/glass doors with window cleaner and microfiber cloth. It is best to do this either at night or early in the morning. Because the sun causes streaks in the glass if you do it in the sunlight. Next sweep, vacuum, and mop. Now that that’s done you can throw the trash bag away and put the things that don’t belong up where they do belong.
Thank you for following my journey.
