It's that time of year when we hang stockings by the fireplace, put up trees and Decorate them, by last minute presents, and to get in the spirit of giving. I love Christmas! My favorite part of Christmas is giving gifts to my family.
Especially my 2 beautiful children. I love seeing their little eyes light up when opening their gifts. Also to see that my husband and I did a great job picking the gifts out. I love planning things out for the two of them. Each year we I try to plan out a few things to do while we wait for Christmas to come.
We always do a gingerbread/ Christmas cookie decorating. My daughters second year of Christmas (when she was actually able to enjoy doing things) we made a gingerbread train. The next year we did Christmas cookie sweaters. Next it was a gingerbread house. One year we did baked our own Christmas cookies, last year we did another Christmas village. Now that my youngest can enjoy doing it this year (although I expect him just to eat it all instead haha) we decorated Christmas cookie ornaments.
So here are a few tips on decorating your gingerbread houses this year.
Give the sides some time to set. Place in the fridge for a couple minutes so that they can harden some.
Put down extra candy! Those little hands love to sneak the candies in their mouth. So you might want some extra candy that way you don't run out.
3. Set up space to decorate. I would also suggest if you expect things to get extra messy place plastic under table to catch dropped candy and add a disposable table cloth on table to help clean up go faster.
4.Decorate sides first before putting houses together. It's easier putting the icing on top then trying to do it on the sides.
5. Lastly have fun!!!! Put on some Christmas music, dance, and enjoy decorating. Whether by yourself, with friends, or those precious little ones.
